The study evaluates the suggestions of an educational and school reform with a view of the pre-revolutionary and revoloutionary periods, and of the projects by Mirabeau, Condorcet, Lepeletzier. From the methodological standpoints attention is paid here to the problems of the continuity, discontinuity and the antitheses of the thematic of the Enlightenment-the revolution and the evaluoting of the projects according to the democratization of the educational values. In the foreground, and that also in the respect of the „school of the future“, the idea of the „house of the mational education“ appears. (In Lepeletzier’s project).
In the hitherto literature in Czech lands especially F. Drtina’s publoication about the history of higher schools in France (1898) is evaluated as an example of the methodology of progressive bourgeois science; the publication by M. Cipro about the development and problems of the French school and education (1985) is evaluated as an example of the socialist science. In the older maexist historiography of the education the myth of revolution used to be put against the myth of Enlightenment.
A number of problems, especially in the area of the public acceptance of those projects in individual lands, and the evaluation of the projects according to their authors’roles in the revolutionary struggles has remained open.
