(EN) Changes in the workers' training and education under the conditions of Svit, the national enterprise Gottwaldov, in the years 1945 - 1982

The national enterprise Svit in Gottwaldov (before its nationalization in 1945 called „Firm Baťa, Zlín“), the most significant producer of the footwear in Czechoslovakia, has always been noted for its highly organized training and education of its adult workers as well as of apprentices. In the years 1945—1982 expressive progressive changes in the character of the workers' educational institutions were introduced, and forms of the factories training and education equivalent to the new economic and social situation were looked for, so that they could provide the necessary qualification of all workers when covering the demanding tasks of the production.
The demands concerning the workers' qualification were influenced mainly by the modernization of the production (especially by introducing chemical processes), and by the orientation at large orders. In the training and education of the workers extraordinary attention was paid to the ideologically-political, Weltanschauung, cultural, social, physical and health compounds of education as to, those compounds which give the working abilities their finishing touches in the full sense. The preparation and continuous improving of the purposeful educational influencing the workers in the national enterprise Svit became an unsubstituable means of the economic and social advance of this enterprise.
