In the article a classification of determinants influencing the realization of the school instruction has been carried out. Those determinants are described whose validity has been proved by empirical researches in the Czechoslovak and foreign didactics and the pedagogical psychology: (1) Time determinants (actual time of instruction, exploited time of instruction, active time of learning.) (2) Determinants based on the instructional communication and interaction. (3) Determinants based on the factor the teacher (instructional style of teachers, modification of educational projects conducted by teachers, preference, the teachers’ ideas and attitudes to educational contents, conditions of teachers’ work. (4) Determinants based on the factor pupil (personal characteristics of pupils, social characteristics of pupils) (5) Determinants based on the factor contents of instruction. (6) The article is accomplished by a survey of methods of exploring the determinants of instruction (methods of a complex analysis of instruction; methods of a case study.)
