Annotation:
On the basis of a monitored research the article analyses and appraises some of the existing approaches to, and the present-day state of dealing with, the problems of syllabi from the general didactic aspect. It proceeds from the works of O. Chlup, E. Stračár, M. Králíková, A. M. Dostál, B. Kujal, J. Coufalík and others. The conclusion arrived at is that in Czechoslovak pedagogy there has been no systematic development of the problems involved, which received more intensive attention mainly in the periods of pedagogical reforms. At present theoretical prerequisites have been formed for the constitution of a comprehensive syllabus theory, whose task it is a) to process and reappraise from its viewpoint the existing theoretical knowledge not only in the field of education, but also in other pedagogical and allied disciplines; b) to create theoretical knowledge of its own in accordance with its object, which is considered to be the syllabus making process; c) to create the means for the transfer of this knowledge into the syllabus creation proper.
