(EN) The Socialist Youth Organization in the System of Communist Education at Secondary Schools

The most significant extraciass organized educational factor, the school’s main partner and helper in fulfilling the tasks of the communist education of the youth is the Socialist Youth Organization.
In a socio-political and pedagogical reflection the author of the study elaborates on the basic aspects of the Socialist Youth Organization’s activities at secondary schools. He aims at determining the place and tasks of the school section of the Youth Organization in the system of communist education and the whole structure of the Socialist Youth Organization’s activities, proceeding from Lenin’s teaching saying that the training of a builder of communism is carried out by means of connecting classroom instruction and education with socio-political, productive and practical activities.
The author pays special attention to the development of socio-political activity in the youth organization’s work, to the function and mission of the youth organization in forming ideological and political consciousness and the sense of moral responsibility. By the content and orientation of its activities the youth organization is an important link in the process moulding the pupil’s personality from the point of view of the pupil’s social activity and the whole socialization process as well as from the point of view of political activity, viz. entry into socio-political life.
The effectiveness of the character building process in the youth organization exercises a significant influence on what is achieved by the combined efforts of the educational staff and the youth organization’s team. The author indicates the basic planes of relationships between them, and in doing so he proceeds from the interpretation of this relationship by A. S. Makarenko and N. K. Krupskaya. He especially analyses the function of the Party guidance and of the principle of a comprehensive and systems approach in the common work of teachers and pupils- youth organization members.
