(EN) Some Questions Concerning the Management of Educational Work and the Respective Research

At the beginning of this article concise information is given about research into the prospective system of management of the work of schools, which has been and is being carried out in the 1976—1980 period within the framework of the main task of State Programme VIII-5-4 (co-ordinated by Professor B. Kujal) at the Comenius Pedagogical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. The first part of the article contains on outline of the general conception of the research and its theoretico- methodological starting points.
In the second part of the article, on the basis of research results hitherto achieved and expert inquiry made so far, the author deals with some topical problems of managing the work of schools and the possibilities of their prospective solutions. He proceeds from the presupposed and desirable qualitative changes in the socialist school and in the form of notes he formulates some of the preliminary findings and hypothetical conclusions concerning improvement of teachers’ work, possibilities of innovating the existing organization of educational work at school, questions of criteria of success in the work of the school and success in managing this work, some topical problems concerning the general system of management in education and the problems of heads of schools as regards their selection, preparation and general conditions of work.
