Annotation:
The author analyses in his article some significant questions of socialist university pedagogics coming to the forefront in connection with the thinking over and the implementation of the resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia of April 23rd, 1959, "On a Close Connection of School with Life and on Further Development of Upbringing and Education in Czechoslovakia". He proves that it is impossible to acquire the principles of socialist pedagogics unless we have, once and for all, disposed of the principles of bourgeois pedagogics. He analyses three principles formulated by Sergei Hessen, a bourgeois theoretician: autonomy of the University, freedom of teaching and study, completeness of scientific education. The author shows that these principles are an expression of the political class interests of the bourgeoisie. On the other hand, the leading principle of socialist pedagogics is open Communist partisanship in all scientifico-research and instructional-educational processes of the school and a decisive struggle against the bourgeois idea of an apolitical school.
The author then sums up the analysis and draws some conclusions about the relationship between pedagogics and politics. He defines in detail the basic features of the instructional-educational process at a Socialist School and shows the University teachers the ways of mastering the new pedagogics in practice. The road to scientific pedagogics leads by wdy of the knowledge of the scientific policy of the Communist Party (and especially its policy as regards education) and an aciive participation in its realization.
