The author deals with the Important tasks of vocational training centres, apprentices schools and technical schools, resulting from the resolution of the Xlth Congress of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia on the completion of socialist construction in Czechoslovakia. Vocational schools are supposed to provide skilled workers, mediumgrade technicians and foremen for all branches of our national economy. In accordance with automation and mechanisation of production and the changing character of labour In production they are to provide technical education and technical training, but gradually also general education on the secondary school level. According to the resolution of the Xlth Congress of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, by the year 1970 an overwhelming majority of the youth shall have received complete secondary education. Thus It will be made possible also for pupils of apprentices' schools and technical training centres to study their trade at the universities and other institutions of higher education. The tasks of the completion of socialist construction demand that vocational schools bring up universally educated and technically well-trained personnel. From this point of view Important problems will have to be solved concerning the work and content of vocatiohal schools.
