This paper was delivered as an introductory report at a seminar organized at the Philosophical Faculty with the purpose to discuss problems connected with the formation of the students’ world outlook in the teaching of pedagogy. The seminar was attended by representatives of the Departments of Pedagogy at Universities in the Czech Socialist Republic. The main point of the discussion was an analysis of a number of problems connected with the position of pedagogy at faculties training teachers. This paper analyses some questions of the methodology of pedagogy, and of the application of methodological views in teaching; however, more space is devoted to the questions of an interpretation of the contents of pedagogy as taught at universities from the viewpoint of the world outlook. It is on this level that the author analyses the aims of education, the educational system, world-outlook education as an organic part of pedagogic work. The author also pays attention to the students’ preparedness to accept the ideological influence of the teaching of pedagogy, as well as to the problems of forms and methods in joining the teaching with practice, and that from the viewpoint of the influence on the formation of a scientific world outlook among the students. This paper is a starting point for further elaborations of programmes of ideological education in the Departments of Pedagogy.
