Jan Lundell is a full professor of chemistry at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. His main activity is training future chemistry teachers and to develop chemistry education and reearch on different levels of education. His research interests involve modern phenomenon-based developments in science education. This involves especially using molecular modelling for learning purposes, which is related to the other research activities of Prof. Lundell. He is currently also conducting molecular level studies in the fields of low temperature solids, novel noble gas molecules and light-induced chemical processes.Prof. Lundell is also director of the Central Finland LUMA-centre, the chairman of the board of the LUMA-Centre Finland network, and editor of Journal of Molecular Structure.
