The author describes the goals, the selection sample, methods, organization and the results of the technical drawing teaching at secondary technical schools in the district of East Slovakia. 310 learners picked by occidence took part in the experiment, 60% having been boys and 40 % girls, all pupils of the first forms of the secondary technical schools (specialized at machinery, electrotechnology and transport). A didactic test, a questionairy for the pupils and one for the teachers were used here as the research methods. Through a statistic verification the following hypotheses were confirmed: The technical drawing teaching effectivity is not gratifying. In the didactic test better results were achieved by the boys than by the girls, especially in the field of the space visualization. — There are considerable differences in the technical drawing effectivity among individual schools. — The learners’ classification is branded by subjectivity.— The effectivity of the teaching according to the new conception is lower than that achieved according to the old one; boys are more interested in the study at secondary technical schools than girls.
The author considers the following items to be the causes of the ungratifying effectivity of the technical drawing at technical schools: too big quantities of the teaching materials; a low teachers' stimulation; indeterminate formulations of the goals in the school schedules; the fact that girls who are not interested in technology are accepted at those schools; explotation of ineffective methods which are tributary to the tradit.
